Run /trap setup. Pick an existing channel or let kestrel make one. Tell your members it is off limits.

kestrel pins a warning in the trap. Real members read it and stay out. Hacked accounts and spam bots post without reading.

A post in the trap removes that account. The account is banned, kicked, or timed out right away, depending on the action you chose.

Commands

/trap setup: Choose or create the trap channel and pin the warning.
/trap remove: Turn the trap off for this server.
/trap action: Choose ban, kick, or a 24 hour timeout.
/trap exempt: Add or remove roles the trap ignores.
/trap status: See the trap channel, the action, exempt roles, and the delete and timeout windows.

Every command needs the Manage Server permission by default. You can change who may use them in your server's integration settings.

Honest limits

A trap catches only what is posted in it.
kestrel never reads message text. It only notices that something was posted in the trap.
It does not stop scams posted in your other channels.

Privacy in short

kestrel stores three things: your trap settings; a daily count of catches; for soft bans, the member ID until the unban runs. Nothing else. When kestrel leaves your server, the settings for that server are deleted.
