Privacy policy

This policy covers the kestrel Discord bot and this site, kestrel.netnestdesign.com. Both are operated by NetNest Design LLC.

Version 1, effective October 2026

  • The trap settings for each server: the trap channel, the action, and the exempt roles.
  • A daily count of catches for each server.
  • For soft bans, the member ID until the unban runs. It is deleted as soon as the unban is done.

That is everything kestrel stores.

Message text, usernames, or anything else about your server or its members.

kestrel reads no message content and uses no privileged intents. When something is posted in a trap channel, Discord tells kestrel which account posted it. kestrel acts on that account without looking at what was posted.

This site sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics.

When you write to us through the contact page, we keep your message, your email address, your IP address, and your device information. The contact form sets one cookie that protects the form from forged submissions; it holds a random value and nothing about you.

We use what the bot stores only to run your trap. We use contact messages and the details kept with them only to reply to you and to investigate abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it or use it for marketing.

When kestrel leaves a server, the settings for that server are deleted. A soft ban member ID is deleted once the unban runs. Contact messages are deleted when you ask us to.

kestrel and this site are hosted in the United States.

You can ask what we hold about you or your server, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We answer within 45 days. Residents of California (CCPA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), and other states with privacy laws have these rights under those laws; we give them to everyone.

To have your server's data or your contact messages deleted, or to ask what we hold, write to us through the contact page. Include your server ID so we can find it.

kestrel is operated by NetNest Design LLC. If this policy changes, the version line at the top of this page changes with it. Last updated October 2026.
